Software Configuration Manager

Our customer develops high performance products for telecom providers, professional and home surfers alike. They are a multinational top player in the area of multiple-play gateways to support advanced voice, video, and data services such as broadband access, multiple wireless voice-over-IP (VoIP) lines, IPTV, video on demand (VOD), fixed-mobile convergence, UPnP media sharing, and printer sharing.

Job Description:

Your main responsibility is to implement the Release Management policy for software releases. This includes managing the versions of the code and documentation and the bug tracking system during software development.
You assist the software department with a range of tools (ClearCase, ClearQuest, Custo wizard).
Build production (Unix, Linux, Windows, Macintosh), maintain and improve the build environment/tools, with focus on automation of processes.
You are involved in corporate projects together with IT, PM, legal, tool vendors and consultants.

• Designing, writing and module-testing new software programs
• Bolting-together existing software products and create added value on top
• Maintaining systems by correcting software defects
• Investigating new software technologies
• Writing operational documentation
• Working closely with other staff, such as project managers, test engineers, graphic artists, systems analysts, and sales and marketing professionals
• Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications
• Problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project

Necessary Qualifications / Experience:

Preferred experience or knowledge in one or more of the following domains:

• Education: Computer Sciences/Engineer in electronics
• Experience: 1-5 years
• Software Configuration Management Tools (ClearCase/ClearQuest) and Release Management
• Build environment using make/clearmake
• Scripting : Perl, zsh, bsh, cygwin, Python
• Web- & database design
• C, Java, C++
• Tool chain management

Personal Skills:

• Fluent in Dutch and English (French and Chinese nice to have)
