SW Engineer on Platform & Drivers

Our customer develops high performance products for telecom providers, professional and home surfers alike. They are a multinational top player in the area of multiple-play gateways to support advanced voice, video, and data services such as broadband access, multiple wireless voice-over-IP (VoIP) lines, IPTV, video on demand (VOD), fixed-mobile convergence, UPnP media sharing, and printer sharing.

Job Description:

• You are in charge of the Software development on platforms (new chipsets) and drivers (new hardware interfaces).
• Develop and debug embedded SW/FW, mainly in C
• Develop/Port SW/FW to new embedded platforms
• Bug fixing/Maintenance in your area
• More experienced software engineers are involved in memory and performance optimizations
• Write design documents/Code reading documents
• Develop device drivers
• Study new selected chipsets
• Your internal contacts include the project management, operations management, R&D management, China. Your external contacts are suppliers of hardware and chipsets. The project manager deals with customers.

Necessary Qualifications / Experience:

Preferred experience or knowledge in one or more of the following domains:

• education: Industrial Engineer or Masters degree in Electronics /ICT or equal by experience
• experience is not a must, if having the right personality
• embedded SW development (mainly kernel space)
• C programming
• debugging on target (Lauterbach, gdb)
• Linux embedded development is a pro
• Linux kernel knowledge is a pro
• experience with RTOS is a pro
